Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Finney Injury Law represents clients in personal injury matters ranging from auto and truck crashes to traumatic brain injury and daycare liability. With only ten staff members managing 130–140 active cases, efficiency and accuracy are essential.
Edward Flynn, the firm’s Medical Records Coordinator, oversees the demanding task of managing vast amounts of medical documentation and deadlines. He also serves as the firm’s “unofficial Neos administrator,” building templates, configuring AI tags, and championing adoption across the practice.
After outgrowing legacy systems and testing other platforms, the firm ultimately chose Neos for its ability to consolidate operations and deliver AI-powered capabilities.

“The platform didn’t provide AI-powered features that our firm would be able to utilize in our day-to-day.

Medical records are at the heart of Finney Injury Law’s cases, often arriving in sets of hundreds or even thousands of pages. Before NeosAI, Edward estimated it took 5-10 minutes per 50 pages just to surface providers and relevant injuries, which added up to hours on large files.
“If it’s 50 pages, it would take 5 to 10 minutes. I would just apply that to each additional 50 pages, so it’s really time-consuming when it’s hundreds of pages.”
With NeosAI, the firm can zero in on the most critical details in minutes.
“The biggest thing I try to look for is the doctors’ names and the patients’ injuries. It’s really nice to know this information as quickly as possible.”

“I like how it breaks it into different pages and tells you what’s going on on each page.”
Edward now relies on NeosAI’s template tags to eliminate repetitive edits in legal requests and letters.

For example, I can instantly populate legal templates with real-time client and case data, such as incident date, police report status, and court information, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The template tagging functionality in NeosAI also enables the firm to proactively manage milestone dates, reducing the risk of missing important dates and deadlines.

Edward built dashboards within the platform to provide real-time visibility into outstanding records. Requests are tracked separately for those he handles directly and those outsourced to providers.
“I have four different reports that I use. Seeing all of the information I need in one place is essential.”
These dashboards have become central to the firm’s weekly meetings, giving the team clarity and accountability. Additionally, Edward has found it crucial that delayed records over 30 days are automatically flagged — something that would not have been as seamless to track without automated legal workflows in place.
“Being able to quickly pull up what’s missing and when the last time we followed up on a case makes case tracking smoother for our firm.”
NeosAI has added a new dimension to Finney Injury Law’s case evaluation by allowing the firm to spot trends and make data-driven decisions when working a case

In preparing for negotiation and litigation, I leverage the data visualization tools to track liability trends and damages calculations derived from medical records and police reports. For instance, when reviewing the auto accident’s incident facts — such as the sun glare allegedly affecting visibility and driver error — I can efficiently correlate these details with plaintiff injuries and court strategy.”
He’s also found the OCR capabilities extremely beneficial as it has helped their firm uncover key evidence hidden in large files to move cases forward
“We were able to identify a receipt the client had in a big case using the OCR capabilities. It's big to be able to have all of our information in one place to search through and see how it all talks to each other, as opposed to just reading each thing individually, not being able to connect the dots.”
With a lean team, checklists and custom tasks ensure nothing is overlooked. Edward uses checklists daily, while Managing Partner Chris Finney adds one-off custom tasks directly into cases.
“I've done so much with the checklist feature. I use it in every case, it’s very helpful. Chris uses it as well for a quick-add, to assign a custom task.”
Additionally to cut down on repetitive tasks, the firm uses Zapier integrations to automate intake and data entry. They have also started experimenting with newer upload features to cut even more manual steps but are implementing them gradually.
“We use the Zapier integration with Neos which has saved us time during client intake.”
